Dry Ingredients:
1¼ cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons cornstarch
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
Wet Ingredients:
½ cup cold butter (1 stick)
6 tablespoons granulated sugar
6 tablespoons brown sugar
1 large egg
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix-ins (Optional):
1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips (10-11 oz)
¼ cup walnut pieces
Instructions
To make these cookies, begin by preheating your oven and preparing baking sheets. Whisk together the dry ingredients in a small bowl. In a larger bowl, mix the wet ingredients until creamy. Gradually combine the dry and wet mixtures, then fold in the chocolate chips and optional walnuts. Scoop the dough onto the baking sheets. Bake for 6–7 minutes until the tops are golden brown. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
