Cinnamon Cream Cheese Roll-Ups ![]()
Ingredients
1 loaf soft white bread
5½ ounces full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
½ cup powdered sugar
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Set aside an ungreased baking sheet (no parchment or foil needed).
Remove crusts and flatten bread
Using a serrated knife, cut off all four crusts from each slice of bread. Discard the crusts or save for breadcrumbs. Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice until it is about ⅛ inch thick and slightly widened.
Make the cream cheese filling
In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Stir with a fork or spatula until completely smooth and lump-free.
Prepare the cinnamon sugar coating
In a separate shallow bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside. Pour the melted butter into another shallow bowl.
Fill and roll
Spread 1 to 1½ tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture evenly over each flattened bread slice, leaving a ½-inch border on one short edge. Starting from the opposite short edge, roll the bread tightly into a log. Place seam-side down on a work surface.
Dip in butter and cinnamon sugar
Roll each completed roll-up first in the melted butter, turning to coat all sides. Then roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated.
Arrange on baking sheet
Place the coated roll-ups seam-side down on the ungreased baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
Bake
Bake for 16 to 20 minutes, until the roll-ups are golden brown and the sugar coating is slightly crackled. The filling may puff slightly.
Serve warm
Let cool on the baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes before serving. Serve warm for the best texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in a microwave for 10 to 15 seconds or in a 300°F oven for 5 minutes.
