M&Ms Cool Whip and Pudding Frosting

Ingredients
1 box (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup cold milk
1 tub (8 ounces) Cool Whip, thawed
1 cup mini M&Ms, plus extra for topping
Instructions
Whisk the pudding base
In a large mixing bowl, combine the instant vanilla pudding mix and the cold milk. Whisk vigorously for about 2 minutes, until the mixture becomes smooth and noticeably thickened. Do not use warm milk, as it will prevent the pudding from setting correctly.

Fold in the Cool Whip
Add the thawed Cool Whip to the pudding mixture. Use a rubber spatula to fold gently, scraping from the bottom of the bowl and turning the mixture over itself. Continue until no white streaks remain and the texture is uniformly fluffy. Avoid stirring vigorously, as that can deflate the lightness.

Add the mini M&Ms
Gently stir in 1 cup of mini M&Ms, distributing them evenly throughout the frosting. Take care not to crush the candies.

Frost and finish
Spread the frosting immediately over a cooled cake, cupcakes, or use it as a dip for cookies and fruit. Sprinkle extra mini M&Ms on top for a bright, festive finish.

Chill to set
Refrigerate the frosted dessert for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the frosting to firm up slightly and the M&Ms to soften just enough for a pleasant, chewy-crunchy bite. Store any leftover frosted dessert in the refrigerator.
