Easy Caramel Apple Dump Cake ![]()
Ingredients
2 cans apple pie filling
½ cup caramel sauce, plus extra for serving
1 box spice or yellow cake mix
6 oz (1½ sticks) cold unsalted butter
Unsalted butter, for greasing the dish
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the oven and baking dish
Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter to prevent sticking.
2. Build the layers
Evenly spread both cans of apple pie filling across the bottom of the prepared dish. Drizzle the ½ cup of caramel sauce over the filling, ensuring it covers the surface. Sprinkle the dry cake mix in a uniform layer over the caramel and apples. Slice the cold butter into thin pats and arrange them evenly over the cake mix, covering as much of the top as possible.
3. Bake to golden perfection
Place the dish in the oven and bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, until the top is deeply golden brown, the filling is bubbly around the edges, and a crisp crust has formed.
4. Rest and serve
Allow the dump cake to cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Scoop into bowls and top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, finishing with an additional drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.
