In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.<br \/>\n2. Gently fold in the crab meat, cheddar cheese, chopped chives, and breadcrumbs. Mix just until combined\u2014don\u2019t overmix!<br \/>\n3. Form into 8 equal patties and place them on a plate. Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes to help them hold their shape.<br \/>\n4. Heat butter and oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add crab cakes and cook for about 4\u20135 minutes per side until golden and crispy.<br \/>\n5. Remove and drain on paper towels.
