Ingredients:
8 small flour tortillas or pastry squares
1 cup cream cheese (softened)
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup strawberry jam or pie filling
1 egg (for sealing)
Oil for frying
1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
2. Lay out tortillas or pastry squares and spread a spoonful of cheesecake filling in the center.
3. Add a spoonful of strawberry jam on top of the filling.
4. Brush edges with beaten egg, fold over, and seal tightly with a fork.
5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
6. Fry pies in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
8. Dust with powdered sugar and sprinkle with coconut if desired. Serve warm.
