Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup beef broth
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
4 brioche buns or hamburger buns
Butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
2. Add chopped onion, bell peppers, and garlic to the skillet. Cook for 4–5 minutes until softened.
3. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
4. In a small bowl, mix beef broth with cornstarch, then pour into the skillet. Stir and let simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
5. Reduce heat to low and stir in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
6. Lightly butter and toast the buns in a separate pan until golden.
7. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture onto the buns and serve hot.
Pro Tip:
For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or a dash of hot sauce for a spicy kick
