Box Mix Turtle Cake

Ooey gooey, chocolatey, caramelly goodness layered into one dreamy bite! 🥄💖
Ingredients:
* 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus eggs, oil & water as directed)
* 1 (14 oz) bag caramels, unwrapped
* 1/2 cup evaporated milk
* 1/2 cup unsalted butter
* 1 cup chopped pecans
* 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
* 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut (optional, for texture)
* Extra pecans and chocolate ganache for topping (optional but heavenly)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
2. Prepare the cake mix as directed on the box.
3. Pour half of the cake batter into the pan and bake for 15 minutes. Remove and let cool slightly.
4. While it bakes, melt the caramels, evaporated milk, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
5. Sprinkle chopped pecans (and coconut if using) over the baked cake layer, then pour the caramel mixture over the top.
6. Carefully spread the remaining cake batter over the caramel layer.
7. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, then bake for another 20–25 minutes, until cake is set.
8. Let cool completely, then top with chocolate ganache and extra pecans for a luscious finish!
Pro Tip:
Chill the cake before slicing to get those clean, gorgeous layers—and serve slightly warmed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for maximum indulgence!
