Ingredients:
* 3–4 lb chuck roast
* 1 packet onion soup mix
* 2 cups beef broth
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
* 6 hoagie rolls or French sandwich rolls
* 6 slices provolone or Swiss cheese (optional)
* Optional: sautéed onions or peppers for topping
Instructions:
1. Place the chuck roast into the slow cooker.
2. Sprinkle with onion soup mix, garlic powder, and black pepper.
3. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours, until beef is tender and shreds easily.
5. Remove roast and shred the meat with forks. Return to juices to stay moist.
6. Toast hoagie rolls, top with beef and cheese, and broil briefly to melt if desired.
