Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 packet taco seasoning
1/2 cup water
1 bag tortilla chips (or corn chips)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup salsa
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 jalapeño, sliced
1/2 cup crumbled queso fresco or feta (optional)
1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
4. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
5. In a baking dish, layer tortilla chips, followed by beef mixture, salsa, and shredded cheeses.
6. Repeat layers once more for extra thickness.
7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Remove from oven and top with sour cream, green onions, jalapeño slices, and crumbled cheese.
9. Serve hot and dig into the cheesy, spicy goodness!
